A Second of Sweet
A second of Sweet.
A burn.
Fragrant embers
sliding down my
thirsty tongue.
You engulf my tastes,
and sting my lungs,
and quench my thirst,
all in one.
Your fire you keep
in caramel-brown glass.
You keep your burn a secret-
through smell and touch
I cannot detect
the bite, the flame, the glowing liquid coal
which slithers past my
parched, gasping lips.
A second of Sweet...
A burn.
Fragrant embers
sliding down my
thirsty tongue.
You engulf my tastes,
and sting my lungs,
and quench my thirst,
all in one.
Your fire you keep
in caramel-brown glass.
You keep your burn a secret-
through smell and touch
I cannot detect
the bite, the flame, the glowing liquid coal
which slithers past my
parched, gasping lips.
A second of Sweet...
